Technical questions

What file formats do you accept?

We can work with all the standard editable file formats: plain text, Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Open Office, PDF, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and more. Please note that for non-editable, non-selectable files additional charges or delays might occur.

Of course, we can also translate websites.

Do you handle technical translations (legal, medical, etc)?

Absolutely! We accept any sort of translations, from very simple texts to highly-complex technical documents. Some of our major clients are international experts in their fields: they expect only the best from us, and we are happy to deliver.

Quality and privacy

How do you test your translators?

All our translators are professionals, native speakers of their target language. Our Quality team very carefully test their proficiency and fluency during initial selection, and then regularly during the course of their work with DataSource.

Do you offer quality guarantees?

Yes! Please take a look at our quality statement

What about confidentiality?

All our translators take privacy and confidentiality very seriously. We have our own confidentiality agreement with our translators to ensure maximum customer privacy, but we are happy to sign your company's confidentiality agreement if requested.

Payment and delivery

When will the translation be delivered?

Our lead times depend on the size of the project. The smaller the word count, the faster the turnaround. We complete most jobs in one or two working days.

Do you have a minimum charge?

Yes. We usually ask for a minimum charge of 300HK$ to cover our handling and administration fees. However, we are happy to waive that fee for long-term, high-volume partnerships.

What are your terms of payment?

We accept wire transfers or checks in three major currencies: US dollar, Euro and Hong Kong dollar. For orders not exceeding HK$8000 (roughly 800€ or US$1000), we accept full payment after delivery. However, when the order is in excess of HK$8000, we usually request a 50% down payment.

Can I get a free quote?

With pleasure!

Either fill out our free quote request form, or send us an email detailing your project. Usually, we issue free quotes in a few hours.
